On today's episode we will dive a bit further into the Blockchain talks & give some example use cases & ideas, as well as discuss the current trends & how things are going with the implementation of the technology.
My goal is to reinforce the importance of the Blockchain Technologies mentioned in the previous episode, while also helping us get a little more familiar with this very important innovation.
DEFINITIONS
DEFINITIONS
- Decentralization - The transfer of control of an activity or organization to several local offices or authorities rather than one single one.
- ICO - Initial Coin Offering. A type of crowdfunding.
- FIAT - Government issued currency, such as the US Dollar.
- HODL - Someone misspelled "Hold" in a forum and it went viral.
- Market Cap - Total Supply times the Current Price point.
- Cold Storage - Cryptocurrency stored in paper wallet or hardware offline.
- ROI - Return on Investment
- FORK - When a blockchain splits into two separate chains.
- FUD - Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt. Often propaganda to lower prices.
- ATH - All-Time High. The highest price a coin has ever been.
- API - a set of functions and procedures allowing the creation of applications that access the features or data of an operating system, application, or other service.
